This model was developed and produced by Heljan exclusively for Locomotion Models and shows 'ES1' in North Eastern Railway lined Green.

In the early 20th century, the North Eastern Railway (NER) played a pioneering role in the development of electric traction for railway vehicles. The ES1 that this model is based on was one of two steeple-cab electric locomotives that were engineered to work the newly electrified freight branch in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

'ES1' would make a great addition to a OO Gauge collection as an electric shunting locomotive and an example of early British non-steam traction.
