Postcard for a Hot Air Balloon race over the French countryside. Published by T.S.N. Collection of c2,800 pictorial cards, c1890s-1940s / amassed by Miss Winifred Penn-Gaskell (1874-1949) as an aspect of her collection illustrating the development of international air post 1870-1950. Contains postcards and greetings cards, many franked and stamped, their images relating to e.g., Zeppelin airships, autographed portraits of pilots with their planes, early flight accidents, air meetings, international and air exhibitions, humorous, futurist ideas of flight, etc.
